Birthday at Gold Hill

A quick weekend for Mary Lee's birthday (though late, because of scheduling) to Gold Hill, Nevada... a tiny and very old mining town outside Virginia City. The oldest hotel in the state offers several lovely cottages, surrounded by lavendar and other plantlife, and we were close to the cemetery (LOVE old cemeteries!), one of whose residents apparently really liked toys.

Birthday in the Sierra

I am SO bad at updating this thing. So before we meet the one-year anniversary of my 2010 birthday, here are pics of the fantastic weekend Mary Lee treated me to, to celebrate my 46th. We had an amazing condo at the Resort at Squaw Creek, southwest of Reno near Lake Tahoe, then took a snowmobile trip in the snowy 60-degree Sierra (odd for April), and bookended the weekend with trips to two restaurants featured on one of my favorite shows, "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives"... Burger Me and Jax Diner in Truckee. Yum!
