Movin' on Up...

Meghan finished the latest phase of her education on an extreme high note with a BS in social work from the University of Nevada, Reno. Yay and congrats! Love ya!

RIP, Johnny...

Mary Lee's brother Johnny died on St. Patrick's Day in Wisconsin. We spent much of that next week in and around his home north of Wausau, Tomahawk (with Lake Alice essentially the backyard), after a stunning Italian Catholic funeral, including a 21-gun salute. I'm sorry I never met Johnny, but I now finally have met most of the rest of the family. Johnny, we salute you.

Switching Calendars in Mexico...

Wow. Here is the house in Bucerias, Mexico (near Puerto Vallarta), where we spent the beginning of New Year 2012. Thanks to Debbie and Steve for letting us rent their amazing home for a week to simply relax. We spent a little time in town, but the rest at the stunning home, just reading, playing cards and Scrabble, and walking the beach. Happy New Year!

Traversing the Southern Caribbean

Wedding anniversary number three was spent on the amazing Emerald Princess, sailing through incredible water from island to fantastic island. Leaving from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, we spent a day on the Princess-owned Princess Cays, then spent a day at sea before arriving on October 2nd at St. Thomas... named after me! We saw lizards, fabulous beaches with jellyfish, plus windmills and colorful towns. October 3rd took us to Dominica, another colorful place (though under a cloudy sky), with a great deal of church history AND a fabulous rain forest. After that, sister Sara's birthday, October 4th: Grenada, the island of spices, lush greenery, houses on stilts and a recent hurricane. The 5th took us to Bonaire, a desert area that allowed for an awesome bike ride. Our last stop: Aruba on October 6th, the day before our anniversary, with stunning, if unusual, decor, plus a very cool submarine trip and amazing beach. Happy anniversary, My Love!
